From this web page we plan to report about other cartographic resources that are specialized in Plant Ecology. We actually show two collections of maps, distributed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and processed by our last program GbcGis.exe. The chosen projection has been the "Interrupted Goode Homolosine". The first collection use arbitrary legends" colors while the second one is based on the proposed colors. The examples are given for the West Coast of the United States, between Canada and Mexico.
Global Land Cover
Abstract: The data set is derived from 1-km Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data spanning a 12-month period (April 1992-March 1993) and is based on a flexible data base structure and seasonal land cover regions concepts.
Global Forest Resources Assessment
Abstract:The forest map was produced from the Global Land Cover Characteristics (GLCC) Database, a land cover dataset at one-kilometer resolution derived from Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) satellite images.
