Summary of the Computerized Bioclimatic Maps of the World

[Index of the Maps]

The third series of Computerized Bioclimatic Maps was released at the end of April 2010. This series of maps basically consists of seven continents with 25 km² of pixel resolution. It also included global maps (with 100 km² of pixel resolution) and regional maps (countries or states with 1 km² of pixel resolution and islands with 250 m² of pixel resolution). All these maps are being progressively uploaded. A limited number of cd-rom (with 28 continental maps) are available at the Post Office (for free, with international shipping costs), please email to us for further information.

It is important to notice that more than 70.000 climate stations were used inside this project, completely regardless of the collection that we have published since year 2000 in our web sites. The third series of Computerized Bioclimatic Maps is based on about 5700 climate areas of temperature, below are the statistics for both collections.
